Narrative Photography:
Photographers can tell a story through images by using narrative photography. Narrative photography is connecting events in each image so it creates a story.

Inspirations:

Columbine Goldsmith is a narrative photographer who grew up in Los Angeles. Columbine Goldsmith said "surrounded by the film business, i think storytelling got drilled into my brain". Her father who was a cinematographer gave Columbine Goldsmith an old camera only then was it when she started taking pictures.

Elliott Erwitt is a great photographer who manages to add a few different effects in one shot such as narrative, humour and emotional impact. Elliot Erwitt was born July 1938 in France.  Elliot said 

"You always look for the best picture, but sometimes the pictures are not that great alone. But in a group, they become interesting.” 

I love how clear and neat Elliott Erwitt's shots are, the time and effort he put into every image to make sure the shots were nice and detailed.

Duane-Michals was born on February 1932 and is an american photographer. He was on holiday in 1958 when he discovered an interest in photography, Duane-Michals describes his photography skills as 'completely self taught'. The photographs he took whilst on holiday in USSR were shown in the Underground Gallery in New York City where he held his first exhibition.

It was in tyne1960's where Duane-Michals photography strived creative, in the 1960's photography was influenced hugely by photojournalism and aesthetics. He shown narratives by using distinctive pictorial technique. The narrative sequence below is in a cinemas frame - by - frame format. 

Eadweard Muybridge was born in April 1830's he was an English photographer and worked most on photographic studies of motion. It was known that his photography on moving animals had captured movement in a way that had never been done before.

The cleanness of each shot even with movement is something i would really like to learn and be able to do.

I also researched about different ideas for creative narrative projects, this really helped me think out of the box and make sure i had different ideas and also a back up idea if my original idea didn't work out properly.  Researching about different narrative projects gave me many ideas i would not of thought of myself for one example body art because every tattoo has a different meaning to each person so therefore there would of been many different stories behind each photo going through the narrative sequence.

I looked up about different buildings and how the light hits buildings with different heights. At night the different shapes of buildings and there features make a completely different photograph compared to daytime.

I think buildings look even more beautiful at night it shows something different with the glowing lights and the detail on the buildings.
